A simple problem here, My insprion 1200 is suppose to have 256mb of ram but windows is only seeing 248, is this normal or do I have a small problem.

And I know how everyone fells about dells so I don't want to hear "buy a new one" oir "Dell sucks" or anything like that I just want the question answered.

This is simply because your Dell Inspiron used an onboard graphics chip which uses part of your system RAM to function. The usual size that is reserved is 8Mb. So don't worry, this is perfectly normal.
