If your having problems with the internet where you have to log off then back on again and the modem checks out. The problem could be with you windows product ID. I was have this problem with my system (a home built) and i was using a generic ID. I had the problem through about 20 formats and 3 modems and two different ISP's. (dial up and DSL) until i used an actual ID from a friends copy of windows. And now I'm having no problems.

So don't let dell tech's get you to put in a generic id code just go borrow a friends

nice thing but alas...did not help...my customer at dell.
